Bipolar disorder is one of my (Dr Knox's) clinical interests. Here are some of my favorite resources for people wanting to learn more about bipolar disorder.
Really this page could be entirely devoted to the excellent book "Bipolar? Not so much" by Chris Aiken (a giant in the field of psychiatry) and James Phelps. If you have bipolar symptoms and work with me for long, you will most certainly be getting photocopies of chapters from it. The first part does an excellent job at describing what symptoms of depression, mania and hypomania can feel like, and the second part details treatments, including not just medications but lifestyle changes most likely to decrease the chances that symptoms will arise.
I'm always updating this page, so check back soon. Please also reach out to me, to share your favorite resources.
